ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

1. Age: The minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
2. Educational qualification: Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination after 12 years of study (10+2 / PUC examination from a recognized board) with an individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the above subjects.
3. English must be a compulsory subject in both 10th and +2 examinations.
4. 5% relaxation of the total marks will be given for SC/ST candidates, as per Government norms.
5. At present, the programme admits only unmarried female candidates here. 
6. Candidates from State Open School recognized by the State Government and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with science subjects and English are also eligible.
7. The following candidates must produce Eligibility Certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai at the time of registration after admission:
   • Candidates who have passed qualifying examinations other than the Higher Secondary Examination
     conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu
   • Candidates who have passed +2 examinations from other States
   • Non-Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
   • Foreign Nationals
8. The candidate must be medically fit.
